Today, Surf and Facebook are launching Express Wi-Fi by Facebook in Kenya. We are excited to share that it is already commercially available in more than 100 hotspots across the greater Nairobi metropolitan area, with Surf also launching service in both the Mombasa and Kisumu areas starting this week. To do so, we are working with Surf, Internet Solutions, and local entrepreneurs to scale Express Wi-Fi to communities across Kenya.

This program supports Kenya’s broader commitment to achieve universal internet access. To connect everyone in the country, and to provide better service to those already connected, local entrepreneurs can become Express Wi-Fi retailers, helping Kenyans connect to the internet easily, and for an affordable rate.
