Introducing Boz to the Future, a new podcast series from Facebook Reality Labs

June 28, 2021

For years now, Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) VP Andrew “Boz” Bosworth has been sharing his thoughts on business, management, and technology on boz.com. Today, he’s branching out with Boz to the Future, a new podcast produced by FRL. Bosworth will speak with technologists and business leaders about bleeding-edge technology, entertainment, and beyond. Via unscripted, free-flowing conversations, monthly episodes of Boz to the Future will look at the future Facebook is building; share deep dives on trends across technology, media, and entertainment; and offer perspectives on management, leadership, and community-building from some of the best and brightest minds in the industry.

While many podcasts offer tremendous breadth, covering a number of different topics to keep things fresh, Bosworth saw an opportunity to go deep instead and examine the implications of future technologies like augmented reality (AR).

In the inaugural episode, Bosworth sits down with FRL VP of Operations Rebecca Van Dyck. Together, they discuss the challenges faced by FRL while building AR glasses — both from a technological and social acceptability standpoint. AR glasses will help us stay connected with our loved ones, feeling more present with them despite physical distance. Listeners will hear about new behaviors we expect to see in response to AR glasses and ubiquitous cameras and microphones, how we’re thinking about this technology’s accessibility, our efforts to be transparent about the work we’re doing, how AR will change the way we consume and think about sports, and more.

You can tune in to Boz to the Future on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Facebook — or right here on Tech@Facebook. We’ll see you next month for a new episode.
